Google recently released the latest version of its mobile operating system, Android 12. It has been available for Pixel 3 to Pixel 5 (including XL and A series phones) and Oppo Find X3 Pro since then. Four beta versions have been released until the end of August, and the latest update, Android 12 Beta 5, was released on September 8th. This version comes with more cleaning and fewer errors than previous versions, giving developers the last chance to eliminate all errors and ensure a better user experience on phones. The Gold Master (final) version of Android 12 is expected to be released to the public between the end of September and the first week of October.
It will come with new material design changes, including a custom interface, security control shortcuts, privacy tags and more. While Google is busy putting the finishing touches on Android 12, we will list the devices that are confirmed and those that are most likely to receive the latest mobile operating system from Google. Pixel 3 to Pixel 5 (including XL and A series phones) are already compatible with Android 12. Other devices that are expected to receive the update include OnePlus, Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, Vivo and Asus. Nokia smartphones are also likely to get their hands on Android 12, although this has not yet been confirmed by Finnish tech giant HMD Global.
Unfortunately, devices that do not support Project Treble will not be able to receive the Android 12 update. Realme GT has early access to the Android 12 version, which uses a new AI Smooth Engine, a fluid space design with 3D icons and improved always-on screen features. If you have a compatible Google Pixel device, you can check and update your version of Android to receive Android 12 wirelessly. Developers can also use generic system image (GSI) binary files to test and validate applications on Treble compatible devices.
Android 12 will also introduce features for devices with larger screens in the style of Android 12. L and iPad OS. This includes MiUI experience adjustments for foldable devices. After the official release of Android 12, Pixel devices were the first to receive the Android 12 update. Other brands such as Sony, OnePlus and Xiaomi participated in the betas and obtained the final version when it became available or soon after.
OPPO is also expected to receive two major Android updates as industry standard. Android 12 offers a lot of new features such as a renewed design language no matter what Android phone you have, Material You theme options on the Pixel, new privacy options and an improved At a Glance feature. Once you have Android 12 installed on your device, don't forget to install some of the best Android apps so you don't miss out on new and interesting apps.
